PICO leaders rally with Congressman George Miller for health reform
Contra Costa Interfaith Supporting Community Organization (CCISCO), June 14, 2009
On June 13, over 500 people from Contra Costa Interfaith Supporting Community Organization (CCISCO) turned out for a town hall meeting on health care reform with Congressman George Miller, chair of the House Committee on Education and Labor.
"Our goal--President Obama's goal that he has been working so hard for--is that we finally make sure that every American who seeks and wants health insurance will have it, it will be accessible, and it will be affordable--one of the key points that PICO and CCISCO are trying to point out," said Congressman Miller to a packed crowd at Queen of All Saints Church in Concord, CA.
"This is what it's about--it's about you organizing--it's about you putting pressure on me and other members of Congress and writing your Senators and telling them that we must have a universal system of care and that it must be accessible, it must be affordable..."
