PICO California has led the campaign to win health insurance coverage for all children in California. Working in partnership with PICO federations and children’s advocates from around the country, PICO worked to secure reauthorization of the States Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and PICO shaped the Affordable Care Act by bringing a strong low-income community voice to the debate over health reform.

The PICO California Lifelines to Healing movement is committed to addressing the causes of pervasive violence and crime in our communities. We believe that the criminalization and mass incarceration of people of color, coupled with the lack of meaningful and quality opportunities, have contributed to a state of crisis in our state and country. Lifelines to Healing is committed to advocating for policies and resources that contribute to the healing of our communities.
PICO federations educate the public on critical civic issues, and provide a means for people to participate in shaping public policy. PICO's relationship-centric model of organizing develops powerful social networks that have helped register and turnout thousands of new voters.
PICO California is made up of 19 non-profit organizations made up of 400 religious congregations, schools and neighborhood institutions representing 450,000 families across the state affiliated to the PICO National Network.
